Larry and Jean Buchholz Family Scholarship
Background: The Larry and Jean Buchholz Family Scholarship fund has been established to provide a scholarship opportunity for students who are at least a third generation descendant from families residing in Slope, Bowman and Harding counties. The recipient must be a graduate of Bowman County High School.
The maximum award any student may receive from this fund is $5,000. This is a one-time award that will be made to a graduating high school senior. Monies awarded will be paid directly toward the recipient's post-secondary expenses at any accredited institution. Two scholarships will be awarded each year.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be a graduate of Bowman County High School.
- Applicant must be at least a third generation descendant from families residing in Slope, Bowman, or Harding counties.
- Applicant must portray a respectful appearance.
- Financial hardship and family need will be used during the selection process. Applicant must submit a short paragraph describing their financial need (250 word maximum).
- GPA of 2.50 or higher.
- Once awarded, the recipient must maintain the status of a full-time college student. If the recipient falls to part-time status or drops out of college, the scholarship will be rescinded.
**The selection committee members are Ron Palczewski, Carl Soreide, and Doug Buchholz with final approval from the scholarship foundation committee.
